Story of Impact: Shamiah Naff

"The mission for my life is to empower others to live financially wealthy lives by educating them on finance and reforming their relationship with money."

FINDING HER VOICE THROUGH FINANCE

Just a few short years ago, Shamiah was in the midst of completing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Houston.  It was around this time that her mom, Colette Naff, urged Shamiah to attend a KW Next Gen Course called “Mastering the Basics of Money.” Colette, a Next Gen Instructor herself, would be teaching the class, which focused on key financial principles for long term wealth building success.

After taking the course, Shamiah applied for Quantum Leap Coaching with a certified Next Gen Instructor. Attending 6 coaching sessions across 3 months, Shamiah was able to establish her goals and narrow down her priorities to reaching those goals. She credits the coaching sessions with helping her clarify her priorities and holding herself accountable to those priorities each week.

“My favorite part of the process was the application of the 80/20 rule on how to become that blackbelt in life by learning to focus on the things that matter most.”

FUNDING HER GOALS THROUGH THE FMM SCHOLARSHIP

After completing her coaching sessions, Shamiah was eligible to apply for Next Gen’s Fund My Mission Scholarship, which provides up to $10,000 for educational pursuits, professional training, coaching, or certifications that align with your mission. Shamiah received two installments of the FMM Scholarship – once in 2021 and again in 2022 – which she used to help pay for her college tuition at the University of Houston!

leading the way for others at QL Summit

In 2024 Shamiah attended QL Summit as a QL Leader. She was able to share her personal journey through the KW Next Gen programs and help guide event attendees through the curriculum, giving concrete examples of how the Quantum Leap models and systems had worked for her.

She has been vocal in encouraging her peers to attend KW Next Gen events for the transformative material and the opportunity to build a community of like-minded individuals.

“If you come into it with an open mind, this material has the potential to change your life.”

establishing herself in the finance world

Fast forward to the present day, Shamiah has been busy chasing down her goals! She received her Certified Financial Planner designation (the highest designation a financial planner can achieve), and is one of the youngest African American females to have this designation in the state of Oklahoma. She has also purchased her first and second homes.

In the years ahead Shamiah is hoping to share her financial knowledge with the goal of impacting 100 new clients through financial planning and literacy. She continues to leverage the tools from Quantum Leap in her daily life, both personally and professionaly.
