Podcast Episode #2: KW Next Gen’s Origin Story with Skye Anderson

In our 2nd episode of the newly launched KW Next Gen podcast, host Kaitlyn Pennington sits down with our very own Skye Anderson for some background on how KW Next Gen came to be, and the value of the Quantum Leap programming.

AN UNEXPECTED INTRODUCTION

When Skye Anderson was browsing in her local book store, she could never have predicted that a chance encounter with the book “The One Thing” would lead her to a career with a Keller Williams nonprofit.

After reading the book and connecting deeply with the material, Skye made the bold move to reach out to co-author Jay Papasan, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Skye ultimately accepted a position within Keller Williams which led her to KW Kids Can (now KW Next Gen), and she hasn’t looked back.

the power of quantum leap

Skye has embraced the powerful Quantum Leap models and systems that guide all of KW Next Gen’s programs. From the Mission Statement exercise, to the 411 tool and 80/20 principle among others, Skye is tasked with developing new learning modules that incorporate these key principles, with the goal of providing content that young adults can absorb and apply to their own lives.

"it's not one thing, it's one thing at a time"

Skye is big on getting into the habit of identifying the most important thing, and focusing on that first. She encourages others to take a similar approach. Focusing in on the most important thing you can do to move your life forward in that moment, and not getting distracted by other items vying for your attention, is the key to maintaining your priorities and managing your life.

And that doesn’t just apply to work – your one thing can be tied to your family, or your hobbies, or any other category that is important to you and deserves your attention.

After all, when we take intentional steps toward the life we want, we show up in the world as the best and brightest version of ourselves.
