A Story of Impact from KW Next Gen
Taniya Bible wasn’t sure she had a goal.
She was 27 years old, living in Minneapolis, working as a special education teacher, and genuinely uncertain about what she wanted her future to look like. She loved her students — kids from kindergarten through fourth grade, many with disabilities, many without the advocates they deserved. But she was still figuring out herself.
Then her aunt Julia, a leader and instructor within Keller Williams, called with an invitation: come to the Quantum Leap Summit in Austin, Texas. You won’t know anyone. That’s okay.
“I heard Austin, Texas, and I was like — let’s go,” Taniya says.
She had no idea what she was walking into.
Walking into that room in Austin, Taniya felt the gap immediately — not just in goal-setting, but in believing that a goal was even possible.
“I got there and I’m like, well, I’m not quite sure what my goal is,” she says. “I didn’t know what I really wanted in life. I knew what was in front of me.”
She heard Gary Keller tell his story. It wasn’t what she expected. She’d assumed people like him had always had it easy — born into the right circumstances, handed the right opportunities. What she heard instead was a story of hard work, real setbacks, and a long road. “I wouldn’t have guessed that you overcame all of that and then got to where you are today,” she says. “A lot of us just think — you were born rich. You had it like that. You didn’t work for it. But then you go and you meet people like this. No, you really worked to get here.”
The instructors wouldn’t let her stay small, either. When she tried to set a modest goal, they pushed back. Think bigger. We’ll help you build the steps.
She left inspired — and, having attended a full Quantum Leap event, now eligible for KW Next Gen’s Quantum Leap Coaching program. She applied, was accepted, and was paired with coach Lisette Montoto. For the first time, the steps felt possible.
If there’s one tool Taniya credits most, it’s the 411.
She’s someone who, by her own description, has always struggled with the overwhelming nature of big goals — a mind that wants to do everything at once and ends up doing nothing. “I’m overwhelmed, I’ll do that later, I’ll just start something else,” she says. “It becomes impossible in my head to reach a goal because there’s so much to do.”
Lisette kept coming back to the 411: break the yearly goal into monthly priorities. Break the monthly priorities into weekly ones. Then just look at this week.
“I just have to check off these lists this week,” Taniya says. “I got that done. Now I can see the next step. It’s like a ladder — one step at a time. And then I get here to the point where I’m like, wow, I accomplished a lot in little time. I thought it was going to take me years.”
The mission statement she wrote at Quantum Leap surprised even her with how clearly it named what she’d always been doing.
To provide compassionate, structured support as a special education teacher, creating inclusive environments where students can develop resilience, self-awareness, and confidence. I’m committed to advocacy, growth, and service that supports long-term success for students and families.
It wasn’t just words. It was the thing she’d been living without fully naming.
“I always knew I wanted to make a difference,” she says. “I feel like a lot of children and families end up in situations where they just aren’t getting the support and the chances that they need and deserve. There are kids with disabilities that are struggling in schools and in their environments, and they just don’t have things put in place to protect them.”
In her role, she becomes that protection. If a student needs transportation, she figures it out. If they need food, she figures it out. She speaks for them in rooms where their voices don’t carry far enough.
“I don’t want anyone to feel left behind,” she says. “Everyone should have an equal opportunity to grow and to learn. That’s not optional.”
There was also something blocking Taniya that had nothing to do with confidence or clarity — the cost of pursuing her psychology degree at Concordia University, St. Paul, a step she knew she needed to take but couldn’t quite reach financially.
“I went years not knowing how I was going to figure this out,” she says. “It really was blocking me from moving forward.”
The Fund My Mission Scholarship she received after completing Quantum Leap Coaching changed that. With tuition support in place, she was able to move forward in her psychology program — and with that momentum, took the next step of applying to a master’s program.
“I didn’t think I was going to get here because of the first problem,” she says. “And then — shout out to all of the donors, because you are truly appreciated. Without that, I wouldn’t be here today. You never know what door you walk through that will open up more opportunities for you.”
What Taniya looks back on most, though, is the version of herself she was before Austin.
“I had a huge lack of confidence,” she says. “I remember being in my early 20s — I used to cry because I would think, I’m never gonna make it. I’m never gonna get out of this. I don’t know what to do with my life.”
That version of Taniya couldn’t see past the weight of what she didn’t know, what she didn’t have, what felt impossible. Then she sat in a room full of people who had also felt that way — and who had moved through it anyway.
“They believed in me,” she says. “They supported me and helped me figure it out. And now I don’t have those same doubts about myself.”
She still carries those tools into the rest of her life, too. Her aunt Julia recently led a vision board night — but not the cut-and-paste-a-magazine kind. The kind where you ask the same questions Quantum Leap teaches: What’s the big goal? What are the steps? How do you actually get there?
“I started really implementing everything I learned,” Taniya says. “I’m planning different parts of my life. I can use these same tools to reach other things.”
At 28, Taniya Bible is a special education teacher who advocates every day for students the system too easily forgets. She’s cleared the debt that blocked her for years. She’s waiting on a graduate school acceptance. She knows her mission.
She almost didn’t go to Austin.
She’s glad she did.
